Support a Team

Destination Imagination, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donors may request to make the payment directly to Destination Imagination, Inc. for donations to cover the cost of Global Finals registration fees for specific teams. Please ensure that donations are made payable to Destination Imagination, Inc. All payments must include the Team Number in order to apply the donation to the correct team.

We request you use your best efforts to send donations prior to Global Finals in order to reduce the need for issuing refunds after the event, simplifying the process for everyone involved.

All donations must be received by September 30, 2020 in order for refunds to be issued.

Track Donations

Team Managers may track their teams’ donations on the Global Finals Registration site on the Payments Page. Donations are credited against any balance pending for a team’s registration fees.

NEW THIS YEAR: We have added an area to our Payment Page for Team Managers to self-report and track their potential donors. Please be sure to fill in this information before the end of May.

Refunds

After a team has paid the registration fee, we will refund earned donations up to $5,500. The examples below can be used to determine if your team will receive a refund based on donations paid to DI on your behalf. 

Example 1: Donation received less than the registration fee

Payments towards Global Finals Registration

Registration Fee $5,500.00

Example 2: Donation received greater than the registration fee

Refund (Total Payments less Registration Fees) not to exceed $5,500 $5,500.00
Donation to Destination Imagination $500.00

Please note that refunds will be issued to Team Managers, unless DI is authorized, in writing, to pay another party. 

Reminder: If you attempt to make a donation toward a team’s registration fees, individually or from your business, and your child or close family member is a participant on that specific team, the payment will not qualify as a tax-exempt donation.

Make a Donation

To make a donation to a specific DI team, mail a check payable to Destination Imagination, Inc. to:

Please make sure the Team Number is included with all donation checks so funds can be properly attributed to the team’s account. If you do not know the Team Number, you can acquire it from the team’s Team Manager.
