Mind Trekkers is division of the Center for Pre-College Outreach at Michigan Technological University. We use discovery based learning to teach students and their families the science behind the ‘WOW’. Our hands-on activities allow young and old to experience the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields in new and exciting ways. Come to KCC-Exhibit Hall B to experience Journey to Haiti! This interactive exhibit will give you an opportunity to experience first-hand what a day in life of a Haitian student is like. Come and learn a few phrases in Haitian-Creole and decorate a t-shirt with a personal message for a child in Haiti.

Each year, DISC awards scholarships to graduating high school students and those currently in post-secondary educational programs. Applicants must have participated in Destination ImagiNation (or other Destination ImagiNation, Inc. programs) as team members or volunteers.

Applications are scored based on the creativity of solutions to special DISC Challenges as well as past and continued involvement with the organization. There are three Challenge tracks for all scholars: Essay,Presentation, and Internet. Fundraisers are held both at Global Finals and throughout the year, and they include the sale of pins and t-shirts.

CALLING ALL FUTURE BRAIN SCIENTISTS!
We need your help! Your mission is to report to the “Ready, Headset, Go!” brain energy demonstration in KCC-Exhibit Hall B during the Expo-hours!  A team of trained brain scientists will lead you through a fun and interactive demonstration on the future of renewable energy – all transmitted through special brain-scanner headsets!  Run, jump, dance, and work as a team to solve Challenges in this one-of-a-kind interactive adventure!

The walking tour includes imagery and audio and visual technology to connect visitors with the space program, highlighting advanced human research that will ensure safe and sustainable future missions, and next-generation vehicles and surface systems destined for use exploring beyond low earth orbit.
