The Construction Challenge is a Career Education Initiative that helps develop the workforce of the future with teen participants competing and solving infrastructure, design, and service tech Challenges using teamwork, creativity and problem solving.

With the high number of Baby Boomer retirements and increasing demands, the construction industry needs to add more than 1,000,000 jobs by 2012!
This industry is actively looking for talented and motivated employees for a wide range of career
opportunities – from engineering, project management, and service technicians, to sales, marketing, systems, and graphic designers!
Head to the KCC for Construction Challenge fun and competition, with:
• 600 gallons of water whooshing through a course
• remote controlled equipment building the tallest structure
• multimedia public relations campaign to save our infrastructure
What is all this?
For the first time ever, the Construction Challenge is holding its Championship at Global Finals
And 60 middle and high school teams are competing in the Construction Challenge Finals. Construction Challenge teams are constructing their future exploring careers, and having fun doing it all!
Don’t miss the Construction Challenge Finals taking place at the Knoxville Convention Center:
• KCC 200CDE – look for dazzling multimedia presentations presented by teams about the need for roads, bridges, water and sewage infrastructure in local communities across the US and Canada
• KCC Exhibit Hall B – teams go head-to-head with their remote-control vehicles build the tallest building possible, while dealing with performing repairs of their vehicles in record time.
• KCC Exhibit Hall B – have you ever wanted to see 600 gallons of water whoosh down a course – with team-erected barriers directing the water into various holes?? You DO NOT want to miss seeing 600 gallons of water all on the bottom floor of the KCC! Who knows what will happen?
• Sponsors – be sure to stop by the Construction Challenge Expo area to meet representatives from the equipment manufacturing industry and learn more about the great jobs available in construction, agriculture, mining, utility and forestry.
